Investigating the causes of marital adjustment in couple interactions in Yasuj (qualitative study)

Objective: Marital adjustment is one of the most important factors in determining the stability and durability of the marital relationship. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the causes of constructive interactions in compatible couples in Yasuj. Method: This research was conducted qualitatively using thematic analysis method. The sampling method was purposeful and the interviews continued until saturation. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 married couples who had been married for at least 7 years.  Results: MAXQDR 2018 software was used to analyze the content of the data. In the initial coding stage, 102 sub-categories, in the second stage, 15 main categories and finally 6 central categories were obtained. Central categories of importance were communication skills (border guarding, conversational skills, verbal and non-verbal communication), respectively. Valuation (self-worth, good thinking, acceptance of others). Permeability (agreement, tolerance, flexibility). Purposefulness (foresight, common goals). Support (service, coordination). Decision making skills (participatory decision making, consulting). Conclusion: As a result, it seems that constructive interactions in marital adjustment are a function of skills that are created during life.
